Jehovah's Witnesses regularly tells people about their "truth" and how wonderful their religion are. Those who have taken the time to investigate a little further, has found a whole different picture. In the 1 of February 1996 issue of the Watchtower. there's a martyr story of Dan Christian Andersen (picture above) a 15 year old Dane, who died in the summer of 93, after refusing a blood transfusion. Brooklyn has taken quite a liking to display their young martyr's in their magazines lately. This gives us a glimpse into the bizarre world in which the Witnesses live their life, and the sick and grotesque reasoning behind the JW's refusal of blood. All these martyrs had of course arrived at their decisions after having conducted a "personal" weighing of the "facts". The strange thing is that all of them gave exactly the same reason for refuting blood. So much for the "personal" decision. The boy suffered from the Watchtowers favorite decease, leukemia, all JW martyrs reported in the magazines suffer from this illness. Anyway, the magazine quotes the former minister of health in Denmark as saying the doctors was right in respecting Dan's "mature decision" and "well founded faith".
The minister wasn't very pleased by this as becomes clear by the interview he gave to the Newspapers. So we have to thank the Watchtower for this little demonstration of how trustworthy they are when they "quote".
The interview appeared in the largest newspaper in Denmark, Ekstra Bladet 01.25.96
